From Northeast Extension of Pennsylvania Turnpike — SHOW DIRECTIONS

Exit at Lehigh Valley (Exit 56), to Route 22/I-78 East.
Travel less than 1mile on Route 22/I-78 East.
Take the Route 309 North Exit. Continue North on Route 309 for 6 miles.
Look for a blinking yellow light, and turn left at the "Education Park" sign. (If you get to theintersection of Routes 873 and 309, you have passed the college.)
The building on the left is Lehigh Career & Technical Institute. LCCC is on the right. The flagpole after the Korean Vietnam Memorial marks the entrance to the Administration Building.

From Route 22/I-78 (Easton, Bethlehem, and Allentown) — SHOW DIRECTIONS

Travel West on Route 22, exiting on Route 309 North (Tamaqua). (If you get to the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, you have passed Route 309 North Exit.)
Continue North on Route 309 for 6 miles. When Straub Dodge is visible on the left, the college entrance is nearby.

Motivation

To me, life is all about, and enhanced by learning. Anything that I can do to help enhance the lives of others is quite important to me, and is a key motivator. Though I completed my undergraduate degree in a traditional setting, I am currently a full-time graduate student juggling working full time, and family life. With that being said I am sensitive to the needs of the adult learner, as I am one myself. We are people trying to enhance our lives, and the lives of those people around us. I know how badly I want to succeed and having someone work with you that cares and understands that is paramount. I'm motivated by striving to be the same type of contact to the adult learners I encounter that I would want helping me.

Advice for a Prospective Adult Student Looking to Return to School

Do it, plain and simple. The time you wait thinking about it is time that could be spent doing it. The college experience, traditional or otherwise, can only be as successful as the person experiencing it, working at it, and making it happen.

Community College Experiences and Lessons Learned

The best experience in relation to working in higher education is that moment when the prospective student walks out of my office, because they are smiling. I know that they've gotten good, sound information, and that they have a plan about going forward. I know that I have done the job that I was educated to do, and I know that I will be helping them to put that same smile on the faces of others as they achieve their academic goals, and move forward with the ability to help others. I'm fortunate to be a part of the cycle.
