Kate Refsnyder Named Head Softball Coach at Albright College READING, PA – On Tuesday, Co-Athletics Directors Rick Ferry and Janice Luck announced the appointment of Kate Refsnyder has the new Head Softball Coach at Albright College.
Refsnyder comes to Albright after serving as the Assistant Softball Coach at Indiana University of Pennsylvania since July of 2007. While at Indiana University, Refsnyder played a crucial role in the individual development of both the outfielders and the pitching staff. Her guidance throughout the course of the 2008 season helped a freshman pitcher earn 2 PSAC Pitcher of the Week Honors and a Rookie of the Week honor as well. That pitcher eventually capped off her rookie season by being named a PSAC First Team All-Conference selection. Also included in her many responsibilities was the monitoring and implementation of the team strength and conditioning programs, as well as overseeing the academic progress of the players throughout the course of the year. As a recruiter Refsnyder was involved in all facets of the recruiting process, but focused primarily on the outfielders and pitchers. Prior to her stint with the Crimson Hawks, Refsnyder served as the Head Coach at the Archbishop John Carroll High School in Radnor, PA where she was in charge of all aspects of the program. As a student Refsnyder attended and played for Wagner College in Staten Island, NY from 2001-2005. In her four seasons at Wagner, Refsnyder accumulated a combination of awards and honors which included a second team All-NEC selection. Following her graduation from Wagner where she earned a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration, with a concentration in Marketing, Refsnyder furthered her education earning a Master’s of Science in Sport Management from East Stroudsburg University. A member of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA), Refsnyder has coached at a variety of camps and clinics throughout the years. |
