Description: Albright Anime Society explores Japanese and Asian history and pop culture through Japanese animation (anime) and graphic novels (manga). Our meetings consist of screening anime and discussing the historical, cultural, and mythical themes. We aim to prove that animated shows are not just for children and can be enjoyed by all audiences. Animes are shown in Japanese audio with English subtitles.

Typical semester/special events/trips/programs:

  • Weekly Meetings
  • Katsucon Anime Convention
  • Sakura Matsuri (Cherry Blossom Festival) in NY or Washington D.C.
  • Movie Nights and Fundraising Events
