Coordinator of Multicultural Programs/Assistant Director of Student Activities 

The Coordinator of Multicultural Programs/Assistant Director of Student Activities is responsible for coordinating various multicultural activities and programs for both students and the campus community.  The coordinator will also work with students individually to address concerns and needs in our campus community.  In addition, this position will be responsible for assisting the Director of Student Activities in the oversight of the Campus Center (Student Union), coordinating student activities, events and leadership programs, and supporting student organizations.  Additional responsibilities will include serving the students in concert with the College’s mission, working collaboratively with the Assist Directors from Housing and the Albright College Activities Council.  The successful candidate will embrace being a part of a vibrant student affairs team and will seek to work collaboratively with members of that team and other divisions on campus.

Qualifications: Masters Degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education, or related field: experience with student activities and Greek Life with a minimum of 1 year of full-time work experience in student activities or a related area preferred.  The candidate must show enthusiastic dedication to enhancing and supporting diversity on campus, have strong communication and organizational skills, demonstrate a capacity to multi-task and exhibit the ability to lead by both example and inspiration.  Energy and a sense of humor are essential.

College Physician

Albright College is seeking a physician to provide on-site medical services a minimum of 15 hours per week, Monday through Friday.  This part-time, professional position reports directly to the Assistant Dean of Students/Director of the Gable Health Center and will provide medical care and consultations to our students as part of the overall Gable Health Center mission.  Qualifications: Graduate of an Accredited School of Medicine recognized by the Pennsylvania Board of Medical Examiners and Board Certified in Specialty Area with an emphasis in family practice, must hold a current license to practice medicine in the State of Pennsylvania, must have a current DEA certificate, must be current with and maintain medical education requirements for licensure. Media Services Specialist

Curator, Freedman Gallery, Albright College, Reading, PA.  With the recent honor of being listed to Newsweek’s Top 25 list of “Most Artistic Colleges,” the position provides an opportunity to contribute to a vibrant learning community for a curator who can visualize and bring to fruition a challenging and engaging program of exhibitions.  Position plans and organizes the daily and long-term activities of the gallery.  Provides leadership in the presentation, research, and display of contemporary American art.  Collaboratively creates and implements an exciting exhibition program to engage the campus and extended community.  With the Director of the Center for the Arts, and other staff: plans and implements educational programs and marketing/PR efforts, plans and monitors budgets, participates in grant writing.  Responsibilities include contract negotiation, staff supervision, research and writing for catalogs and exhibit didactics, and exhibit design and installation.  Teaches up to two courses per year: a contemporary art history course and a gallery administration course.  MA in art history or MFA required.  Curatorial experience required with prior management experience preferred. Leadership Gifts Officer

Early Childhood Education

 The Albright College Department of Education seeks applications for a tenure track position in Education at the Assistant Professor level commencing in fall 2012.

A Ph.D./ Ed.D. in Education or related area with a major in Early Childhood/ Elementary Education is required. Candidates should possess a valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate or its equivalent.

Ideally candidates should have undergraduate and graduate teaching experience at the college level and at least 5 years of experience in a public school setting.

Normal teaching load will be 6 sections each year (3 per semester): Courses will include PK-4 Mathematics Methods and Assessment, PK-4 Science/Health, PK-4 Methods and Assessment, Middle Level Math and Science Methods and Assessment, and the Early Childhood Practicum course. Summer school teaching is expected for the graduate division for additional compensation.

All tenure track professors are evaluated in the areas of Teaching, Service and Scholarship which can include active collaboration with students on research both at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Assistant Professor of Education
English as a Second Language Instructor 

The Albright College Department of Education seeks applications for a tenure track position in Education at the Assistant Professor level commencing fall 2012.

A Ph.D./ Ed.D. in Education with a specialization in ESOL teacher education with a major in Teaching English as a Second Language, Educational Linguistics, Linguistics, Applied Linguistics or a major in Methodologies of Teaching English Language Learners is required. Candidates should possess a valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate or its equivalent.

Ideally, candidates should have undergraduate and graduate teaching experience at the college level and at least 5 years of experience in teaching English Language Learners in a public school setting.

Assistant Professor of Music
(Music Industry Studies)

The Department of Music at Albright College invites applications for a new tenure-track position with a focus on the study of Music Industry Studies to begin in the Fall of 2012.  We seek a collaborative colleague who will contribute to the creative and intellectual development of our undergraduate students within a liberal arts setting. The position begins at the Assistant Professor level and carries a teaching load of six courses per year within our two semester academic structure. Albright offers a co-concentration in Music Industry Studies housed within the Department of Music with current offerings that include:  Music Industry I and II, Music Law and Ethics, Music Marketing and Promotion, and Artist Management.  Candidates must possess a terminal degree in Music (DMA or Ph.D) as well as a Masters in Music Industry Studies with 5 years professional experience in the field. The successful candidate will be encouraged to create additional courses that coincide with their professional music interests and abilities. Assistant Professor, Mathematics
