The College provides an insurance plan for all athletes if an injury occurs during a supervised practice or game. Because the insurance policy is an excess policy, all claims must be submitted to the student?s primary insurance first. Any remaining balance will be forwarded to the College?s insurance.

This plan will only pay for claims that are true accidents or injuries that occurred while participating in a sport. Any pre-existing conditions that may be aggravated will not be covered under the plan. Medical benefits will be reduced by 50 percent of a claim if the student has an HMO and had services performed at a non-participating provider.
