DATING VIOLENCE
Albright College is committed to providing on-campus security, education, training and victim services to combat violence against all people. Dating violence may occur from time-to-time, on all college campuses. "Dating Violence" is defined as violence committed by a person "who is or has been in a social relationship of a romantic or intimate nature with the victim."
A student victim of dating violence has the right, in addition to filing charges through the criminal justice system, to file a complaint through the Department of Public Safety, the Health Center, the Counseling Center or the Office of Judicial Affairs, relative to acts of violence committed against them or another, by an Albright student.
SEXUAL HARASSMENT
Sexual harassment is any form of unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors or other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature. These actions shall constitute harassment when
- submission of such conduct is made either implicitly or explicitly a term or condition of an individual's employment, enrollment, or academic standing
- submission to or rejection of such conduct is used as a basis for employment, academic standing, retention decisions affecting such individual
- such conduct has the purpose of effect of unreasonably interfering with an individual's work or academic / co-curricular performance or creating an intimidating, hostile or offensive work / college environment.
The College prohibits such conduct as sexual innuendoes, sexually derogatory remarks, physical touching or graphic displays of sexually oriented materials.
ALCOHOL POLICY
Persons under the age of 21 are reminded that the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania prohibits the purchase, possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages. Further, any person 21 years of age or older is subject to the charges of Corruption of Minors for providing someone under the age of 21 with any alcoholic beverages.
Section 6308 of the Pennsylvania Crime Code states: "Purchase, Consumption, Possession or Transportation of Intoxicating Beverages - A person is guilty of a summary offense if he, being less than 21 years of age, attempts to purchase, purchases, consumes, possesses or transports any alcohol, liquor or malt brewed beverages."
NARCOTICS and DANGEROUS DRUGS
Albright College is committed to maintaining a drug-free environment and prohibits the unlawful manufacture, distribution, sale, possession or use of controlled substances as defined by the Controlled Substance, Drug Device and Cosmetic Act of Pennsylvania.
